JHU demands Ranil to fulfil promises Featured

The government affiliate Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) has decided to initiate a series of protest demonstrations around the country, urging Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to fulfil promises given at during the Presidential election.

The first seminar of this series is to be held at the New Town Hall, Colombo on March 19 at 3.00pm.

The JHU emphasises that only the public opinion should be put to practice through a constitutional amendment.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo recently, General Secretary of the JHU - Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said that certain individuals are attempting to trigger many conspiracies through this.

Speaking at the media briefing, Western provincial councillor of the JHU - Nishantha Sri Warnasinghe said that Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is giving the 100 day programme less priority.

Noting that the PM should take the lead to implement the 100 day  programme, Warnasinghe added that if not it would be Wickremesinghe’s incapability.

He also further emphasised that it is the President, not the UNP working committee, who is capable of dissolving parliament.

Speaking to journalists, Warnasinghe further said that an UNP government has been established at the present and that it is a flaw.
