It is said that Mr. Rajapaksa has requested whether he could have the party to contest.

Upon inquiring from Mr. Liyanage on this regard, he told 'Sri Lanka Mirror' that he cannot answer to this over the phone.

He added that he agrees to any request made by the former President and is even prepared to give the political party.

At the moment, the Sri Lanka Labour Party is considered a non allied party.
