Twelve major financial frauds said to have taken place during the Rajapaksa regime are under investigation after the receipt of complaints, police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara says.

Statements have already been recorded from several persons implicated in these frauds.

Among the frauds alleged are the 200 million dollar hedging deal, 122 m USD fraud in the construction of the Kerawalapitiya power plant, Rs. 63 m spent on the 2014 national convention of Divi Neguma and the acquisition of MiG aircraft for the Air Force.
