At a meeting with UPFA affiliate party chiefs at Sri Lanka Foundation yesterday, Mr. Sirisena however did not mention any names.
SLFP leaders as well as Dinesh Gunawardena, Douglas Devananda, Podu Appuhamy and Mahajana Party representatives also attended.
Paying attention to the meetings being organized by Weerawansa to call for Rajapaksa’s nomination as the prime ministerial candidate, the participants decided to hold a series of island wide meetings to raise public awareness on constitutional and electoral reforms.
They also decided to invite the JHU, Communist Party and the LSSP to join the UPFA.
At the meeting, Janaka Bandara Tennakoon was appointed national organizer of the UPFA, Devananda as a deputy chairman and Mahinda Amaraweera as a deputy secretary.
