Meanwhile, Nishantha Ranatunga, incumbent secretary of the SLC, has changed a decision to contest for the presidency at the next election of office-bearers.

Instead, he is to seek re-election as secretary, contesting from the Thilanga or Jayantha factions, say reliable sources.

Nishantha has already discussed with both factions.
