He has reportedly said thus during a telephone conversation with MP Sarana Gunawardena.

Speaking, MP Sarana Gunawardena has said to media that MP Rajapaksa had told him that he had not intention of returning to Sri Lanka in the near future.

Basil Rajapaksa left the country in the wake of President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s defeat at the Jan. 08 presidential election.

Afterwards, he was severely criticised by many for the downfall of the Rajapaksa government and the CID has already commenced investigations over complaints with regard to incidents that had taken place at the ministry of Economic Development during his tenure.
