Wijedasa intimidated judiciary – Anura Featured

JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake says it is not him, but a top official in the justice ministry who has claimed that justice minister Wijedasa Rajapakse and advisor to the prime minister Thilak Marapana had mediated in returning the passport to Avant Garde owner Nissanka Senadhipathi, after it was impounded by courts.

Mr. Dissanayake was speaking at ‘Siddhamulla’ programme broadcast over V FM this morning.

Present when that claim was made were prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and external affairs minister Mangala Samaraweera, said the JVP leader.

He is responding to a facebook posting by minister Rajapakse, who is presently in London, in which he has expressed reservations over Mr. Dissanayake’s politics.

The minister also said that when he was asked at the cabinet and at several committees, he has replied that it was legal on the part of the Avant Garde owner.

Nissanka challenges Anura

Meanwhile, Nissanka has rejected allegations against him by the JVP leader over the floating armoury issue.

The Avant Garde owner has challenged him to come for a public debate over it through any television channel.
