At the workshop for the SLFP MPs, it was proposed to increase the number of ministers and deputy ministers in the National government to 45 and 55 respectively.
In order to set up a national government, several SLFP MPs have decided to crossover to the government in the next few days.
They too are to receive ministerial portfolios, reports say.
Accordingly, the total number of ministerial portfolios are to be increased to 100.
The workshop, organised by President's coordinating secretary - Shiral Laktillake, was reportedly sponsored by a NGO.
Nimal Siripala de Silva, Dilan Perera, Jagath Pushpakumara, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Reginald Cooray, Rajitha Senaratne, Athauda Seneviratne, S.B. Dissanayake and Shantha Bandara had addressed the workshop on setting up a national government and deferring elections.
However, it is said that a group of SLFPers are against the move proposed above.
