Announcing Mr. Modi’s visit, cabinet spokesman, minister Rajitha Senaratne said today the Indian PM would also tour the north during his stay until March 15.

US secretary of state John Kerry too, has accepted an invitation to visit the island, it was also announced.

Minister Senaratne added that president Maithripala Sirisena would visit the US this year.
