The PM has cited that it was the ex-president who had taken the decisions with regard to giving ministerial portfolios to SLFP members, says Prof. Wijesinha.

As the state minister for higher education, he wrote to the president a week ago and said a situation has arisen where he could not function in his state ministry any longer.

He said he would resign if the matters were not resolved within five days.

As that deadline expired yesterday, Prof. Wijesinha said he would not go to his ministry from today.
