TNA unhappy with UNHRC decision to delay report

The TNA has expressed its displeasure at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) decision to postpone the release of the report on Sri Lanka following a probe carried out by the Human Rights Chief's office during the past year.

TNA MP Suresh Premachandra says the postponement of the report will be a setback to resolving issues faced by the Tamil people.

He observed that the TNA will seek a meeting with the Council to discuss the party's concerns over the decision to delay the report.

Meanwhile, Senior TNA MP R. Sampanthan has told Xinhua that he hoped the decision to delay the report would be a one time only delay and it will give time to the government to use the technical skills of the UN to conduct its domestic probe.
