In a memorandum to the Prime Minister, Committee President S Devadoss said Sri Lanka was now willing to release the boats but was insisting that their boats which are now in the custody of the Indian government be released.
The other condition of the nation was thatIndian fishermen should come to Sri Lanka to get it done. It was not possible for the fishermen who are poor to travel to that country by air, he said. Hence the government should resume the third level of talks and secure the release of the boats, Devadoss said.
