Upon the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President is to leave for India on Feb. 15 and is expected to return on the 18.
This is his first official foreign visit since swearing in as President.
During his visit, the President is to meet his Indian counterpart - Pranab Mukherjee and engage in bilateral discussions with Narendra Modi.
The President will also visit the religious sites of Bodh Gaya and Thirupathi Kovil during his visit.
Meanwhile, the Indian government said the forthcoming state visit of Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena will strengthen India's warm and friendly ties to Sri Lanka.
"As a close and friendly neighbor, India looks forward to engage closely with the Sri Lankan President across the spectrum of issues and we hope this will strengthen the warm and friendly ties to Sri Lanka," spokesperson of India's external Affairs Ministry Syed Akbaruddin has said.
