Navy commander Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera is reportedly in hot water over a statement made on the day before the postal voting of the January Presidential election had taken place, internal reports from the Navy say.
The statement has noted that Navy officers who wish to obtain motor bikes should pay a sum of Rs. 50,000 and reserve them.
Although a large number of Navy officers had paid the sum, they are yet to receive the bikes and it is said that the previous government had made no such promise either.
