The source said that Chaminda Karunaratne was sent on leave after he was found to be guilty of taking sides at the January 8 Presidential election which was unbecoming of independent journalism.

Employees of Swarnavahini who spoke to srilankamirror on condition of anonymity said it was unlikely that Karunaratne will be reinstated as the company very rarely recalls anyone whose services have been suspended.
