Speaking to 'BBC Sandeshaya', he has said that Peiris and a group of legal experts are studying the process including changes that are being made over the position of Chief Justice.
'CJ Mohan Peiris will make a public statement in the next few days,' he added.
Noting that the government has not requested Peiris to resign, Attorney-at-Law Wijeratne Kodippili further said that the government statement only declare that his appointment as CJ is not legal.
Ranil to make special statement
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to make statement to parliament today (30) on the controversy over the post of Chief Justice.
