CSN throws party for business partners ahead of World Cup Featured

The controversial television channel called CSN owned by the sons of defeated former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, is reported to have entertained their commercial partners at a five star party held at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo yesterday (January 27) with funds that had been reserved to pay the salaries of employees, srilankamirror learns.

CSN is said to have obtained the rights to telecast the cricket World Cup which is also contested by the Sri Lanka team and the party was intended to procure advertisements for the channel during the event which starts on February 14 and runs up to March 29.

As many as 160 are permanent employees of the CSN company.

Six non-permanent employees have already been put out of work, srilankamirror learns.

According to inside sources at CSN, the company has targetted Rs.400 million as revenue from telecasting the World Cup.
