Plot to destabilize Sri Lanka's international business standing says Avant Garde chief

Plot to destabilize Sri Lanka's international business standing says Avant Garde chief Featured

The head of Avant Garde Marine Services Nissanka Senadhipathi who is under investigation for alleged gun-running has claimed that due to short-sightedness and the absence of a vibrant policy, Sri Lanka could stand to lose millions in revenue from overseas as well as jobs in the very near future.

In an interview with srilankamirror he said that with his venture coming under scrutiny and his passport being impounded following the discovery of a floating armoury, the international community and his foreign business partners could see him as an outlaw besides Sri Lanka losing out on several business ventures.

He pleaded that his business was not illegal and within the laws of the country and in no way detrimental to Sri Lanka or the international community.

Avant Garde's floating armoury on board a ship that was discovered in Galle last week was thought to be illegal but later declared legal by the Navy and Defence Ministry.

Currently Senadhipathi and his Avant Garde company is being investigated by the CID and he has been prevented from leaving the country on an order issued by the Colombo Magistrate.

Given below is a video declaration made by Indian Admiral Joshi on the syndrome of floating armouries.
