Police Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that the two politicians were arrested by the Kadawatha police, in connection with the assaulting incident occurred on 8 January.
The suspects are to be produced before courts today.
Former Deputy Minister Dulip Wijesekara and the Chairman of the Biyagama Pradeshiya Sabha were arrested following an alleged assaulting incident on the Presidential election day, police say.
