President Maithripala Sirisena's current residence is in Wijerama Mw, Colombo, and was formerly used by the late Lakshman Kadiragamar as well.
The incumbent President has decided to shift to 'Visumpaya' instead.
Earlier, it was decided to provide the former President the official residence used by ex-defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
However, the government has later decided not to do so, although Rajapaksa had expected to move in on Jan. 20.
