Mahinda Balasuriya leaves; SIS chief resigns Featured

FormerIGP and former secretary of the law and order ministry - Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya has left for Abu Dhabi today (18).

It was singular that he was seen in non VIP passenger lounge before boarding the Rotana Jet flight RG 402.

Balasuriya returned to Sri Lanka from Abu Dhabi on Oct. 21 last year to assume duties as secretary of the law and order ministry.

Meanwhile, Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) - DIG Chandra Wakishta has resigned.

SSP M.H. Marso has been appointed to the post in an acting capacity.

Meanwhile, measures have been taken to stop tapping fixed telephone lines and the person in charge of it has been relieved of that duty.
