Media accreditation provided to advertising agency Featured

An advertising agency run by someone closely connected to former Minister Wimal Weerawansa is also said to have been given Accreditation usually reserved for journalists and Media organisations, it has now come to light.

As many as 11 media accreditation cards were issued to this organization.

The main stakeholder of this advertising agency is said to be an UPFA Member of Parliament from the Galle district.

The agency had over the past period acquired some 80 percent of the advertising from the Bank of Ceylon.

In light of the shady dealings by the advertising agency, a Member of Parliament is to make a complaint to the Bribery Commission to the effect that its managing director had given bribes to heads of government establishments to secure the advertisements.

The managing director is said to have procured advertisements by saying his establishment was a State agency.
