Maithri, Ranil to attend maiden session of National Executive Council Featured

In a move aimed at implementing changes to the Constitution and good governance the National Executive Council will hold its inaugural session today (January 15) at 5pm.

The setting up of the National Executive Council was mooted by the JVP and all parties are expected to meet.

Several civil organisations along with party leaders are expected to attend the its first meeting.

President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaranatunga, JVP chief Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Ven. Athureliya Rathana Thera from the JHU, TNA leader R. Sambandan, Muslim Congress leader Rauff Hakeem, Democratic People's Front head Mano Ganeshan and several others are listed to take part in the discussions.
