Set up Commission to probe foreign interventions, BBS tells President Featured

The Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) has requested President Mahinda Rajapaksa if he is re-elected to set up an Independent Commission to probe illegal deals and foreign intervention in the affairs of governance in Sri Lanka.

They have made the request in a letter sent to the President.

"With the conducting of the Presidential election 2015 there came in foreign intervention of a serious nature which drew the attention of the government and people. Non governmental organisations, political parties and politicians have been part of financing deals that have taken place. Court cases can be filed but there is so much to be revealed through a Commission. All this amounts to foreign intervention if the affairs of the country which can be harmful to both the unitary status of the country as well as to the principals of democracy", the letter sent to the President by the BBS has stated.
