Premadasa said that the government in order to entice the crowds to its meetings was spreading false information that he was to join President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He made the declaration at a meeting held in Kolonne.
"My telephone kept ringing today inquiring whether I will be appearing on the government stage in Debarawewa (Hambantota). They got people to come for the meeting saying that I (Premadasa's son) was to be on stage with them. This alone shows to what level the governing UPFA has fallen to", said Premadasa.
He further added: " They are saying that I will be joining the government to get the Prime Minister's job. Let me tell you I have no intention of accepting a post that is not worth two cents in the UPFA government. When the people may be waiting to make me a future leader, the government is exposing itself to lies and falsehoods they are uttering today".
To prove the government was uttering falsehoods that he was joining them, Premadasa graced today's meeting of Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Siirsena in Devundera, Matara.
