Deputy Minister of higher education - Nandimithra Ekanayake pledged support to common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena a short while ago.
Gampaha deputy mayor Ajith Basnayake too pledged support to the common candidate.
Their decision was made during an announcement at a media briefing in Colombo.
