Reports say Mahendran had met Senasinghe to handover a special document.
The deputy minister told parliament yesterday (28) that media institutions and media personnel should be summoned for questioning for having published details about proceedings of the COPE report.
The COPE is not open to the media and the committee has powers to summon them for publishing its proceedings, he said.
Deputy speaker Thilanga Sumathipala said he would raise this matter with COPE chairman Sunil Handunnetti.
Intervening, JVP member of COPE Bimal Ratnayake said he had attended every meeting of the committee.
He said he disagreed with summoning the media before the committee, noting that it should be leader of the House who should first be summoned as he was the first to make comments to the media on the matter.
