Lasantha murder case : Udalagama granted bail

Premananda Udalagama, the Army Intelligence Officer who was in remand over the murder of journalist Lasantha Wickrematunga was released on bail today (27).

Mt. Lavinia Magistrate - Mohammed Sahabdeen released him on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 with three sureties of Rs. 500,000 each.

Imposing a travel ban, the Magistrate also barred the suspect from visiting any army camp or involve in any army intelligence service activities.

The case will be taken up again on Nov. 24.
