The Former Secretary was released on a surety bail of 100,000 rupees following an order issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

Charges were levelled against Nishantha Ranatunga for threatening the Secretary of the Colombo Cricket Association during the previous cricket elections.

Details were produced in Court by the Cinnamon Gardens police over the incident.
