Speaking at an event in Kegalle yesterday (14), the minister said that the President and the PM pledged during a meeting on 13th to safeguard the 'Good Governance' government.
They also pledged to uphold the law in order to do so and agreed that they should be informed when senior military personnel are being brought before courts.
The minister also said that the Joint Opposition is attempting to misuse the President's statement to fish in troubled waters.
Won't shield wrongdoers
Meanwhile, speaking to media in Kundasale, the SLFP General Secretary - Duminda Dissanayake said that the President's statement was not made with the intention of shielding wrongdoers.
Noting that there is no clash within the government, the minister added that the present government is tasked with netting the fraudulent individuals of the previous regime.
