As a result of the assault, one of the security personnel had received severe injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the Emergency Unit.

The injured security guard is identified as Jeevan Premadasa.

The reason for the assault was that although the VIP’s son was granted access to the club the other members who had arrived with him were denied entry.

It was saddening that this sort of behaviour was not expected to take place under the good governance regime and society was assured that this government would not allowed such unruly behaviour by VIP offspring.

During the previous regime, prominent Minister Mervyn Silva’s son Malaka Silva had earned a reputation for engaging in such unruly behaviour at night clubs.

As a result of his behaviour court barred him from entering any night club.
