The assaulted teacher is said to be one Yogananda.
However, the Principal - Wasantha Ranjith Jayasundara said has urged the assaulted teacher and other teachers who witnessed the event not to lodge a police complaint or take matters too far.
Earlier, another teacher of the school named Susantha Herath was assaulted in a similar manner. It was then revealed that the assault of Mr. Herath was backed by the Nalanda College Principal after Mr. Herath had lodged a complaint with the Bribery Commission against the Principal.
Thilanga's promise
Last July, Deputy speaker Thilanga Sumathipala had promised a group of old boys of the College to take the lead to remove Mr. Jayasundara.
