Visiting Asian journalists accorded reception in Qingdao

A group of touring journalists from seven Asian nations was accorded a reception yesterday (24) in Qingdao in China.

Vice director of the Qingdao municipal government’s information office Wang Zhengong received the visitors and hosted a dinner for them.

Here, he made a description of Qingdao, located in eastern Shandong Province on the east coast of China.

The largest city in the province, Qingdao has jurisdiction over six districts and four county-level cities.

Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre.

The world's longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas.

It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China which produces the best-known Chinese export beer.

The Qingdao International Beer Festival in August/September, is held annually since 1991.
