He is reportedly getting ready to contest elections from the eastern province on the ticket of a Muslim party.

Ansar was attacked by a pro-LTTE group at Kuala Lumpur airport on September 04, due to his close connections with the Rajapaksa family.

The man who led the attackers has had close connections with the outfit’s arms supplier Kumaran Padmanathan alias KP, it has been revealed.

Ansar and his family members had come under attack during the war period too, and he had been given special protection by the then president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
