She has lodged a complaint that the officer had come to her home on September 20 and tried to molest her, Wanathavilluwa police OIC Nimal Wathuliyadde told Sri Lanka Mirror.

The suspect, aged 41years, is in charge of the Ralmaduwa division.

The woman’s house too, was affected by the floods following the overflowing of Kala Oya in May-June.

The suspect had tried to lure her on two previous occasions, when collecting details of damage due to the floods.

Produced before the Puttalam district court, he has been released on bail.
