He will be appeared before the Colombo Magistrate later, an official said. Rambukwella was arrested by the police following the accident occurred near Independence Avenue in Colombo 7 in wee hours of this morning.

According to police, Rambukwella was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Cricketer Ramith Rambukwella has been arrested over an accident that took place in Independence Avenue, Colombo, this morning (22), police say.

Ramith is the son of former minister - Keheliya Rambukwella.
