CaFFE said the project is promoted in the form of villagers given a health brochure and books with President Mahinda Rajapaksa's election slogan called "Suba Anagathayak".
They are not only given to people in need of healthcare but also everyone who accompanies the "patients".
To back the whole vote-enticing project, director of "Hospitality Services" in the Health Ministry Dr. Priyantha Atapattu has enlisted the services of all doctors and medical staff of hospitals in the rural and district hospitals.
Meanwhile the UNP's Election Monitoring Unit has written a protest letter to the Election's Commissioner that the Director General of Health Services has through an order organized one such "health camp" in Moratuwa today (December 29) which is a direct violation of the Election Law.
The protest letter has stated that some 24 doctors from the Panadura and Kalubowila hospitals have been forcibly enlisted to carry out the project under the so-called "Tharunyata Hetak" program.
