Central committee member of the party Ven. Passaramulle Dayawansa Thera reiterated the request at a media briefing yesterday (07).
He noted the war was not waged against a specific community, nor the JHU opposed C.V. Vigneswaran’s appointment as the north chief minister.
However, Vigneswaran and others are now trying to hurt the Sinhalese, the Thera charged.
Sinhala people of Navatkuli in Jaffna, Narikadu in Mannar and Kokilai in Welioya should get the same facilities being given to others, he told the government.
It is unfortunate these Sinhalese are unable to receive their services in their own language, which is also the administrative language of the country, he said.
The JHU has renewed its call to the president to appoint a special commission to inquire into harassment of Sinhalese in the northern and eastern provinces.
