FCID probes 8 frauds by Yoshitha Featured

The FCID is investigating eight instances of abuse of money by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, second son of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The investigation file bears the no. FCID 17/15, ‘Yukthiya’ reports.

The instances of abuse of money relate to:

Purhcase of a 27.6 perch land, valued at Rs. 49 million, at no. 173/2, Mihindu Mawatha, Dehiwala, where a four-storey building has been constructed (No assessment made on the value of the building)

0.05 hectares from Siribopura jungle in Hambantota, worth Rs. 1.6 million and bought to the name of CSN channel (deed no. 4129).

0.05 hectares from Siribopura jungle in Hambantota, worth Rs. 1.6 million and bought to the name of CSN channel (deed no. 4130).

0.051 hectares from Siribopura jungle in Hambantota, worth Rs. 1.6 million and bought to the name of CSN channel (deed no. 4132).

OB vehicle owned by CSN channel, no. 236/1, Kobbekaduwa Mawatha, Battaramulla, worth Rs. 80 million.

Construction of the CSN building, worth Rs. 2 billion, on a land obtained on 33-year lease from the UDA by the Rajapaksa Foundation in 1998 (the constructor Nawaloka Group has given the figure, but the assessment report given is faked).

All moveable and immovable properties and frequencies of CSN channel, registered under PV 77114, and worth Rs. 235 million.

Land and building at 219/1 A, Stanley Tilakaratne Mawatha, Nugegoda, registered by notary registrar B.S.D.P. Perera (deed no. 2285) and worth Rs. 138 million.
