He was speaking at an annual clinic in Kandy yesterday (17) for the elephants taking part in the Esala pageant in Kandy.
Those in the Pinnawala orphanage and Eth Athuru Sevana too, suffer from TB, he said.
They could have caught the disease from their keepers, according to Dr. Dangolla.
They have been told to take the necessary treatments.
Also, tame elephant suffer from worm diseases, while around 60 per cent have eye ailments.
Elephantiasis and toxoplasmosis too, are common among them, said Dr. Dangolla.
