The COPE has exposed several irregularities committed at Sri Lanka Cricket in the past few years, reports say.

Among them is the free distribution of tickets worth Rs. 45 million out of a total Rs. 75 million worth of tickets for 13 ODIs and four Tests in 2014.

Although SLC had incurred a Rs. 393 million loss during that year, its employees had been paid festival advances.

Also, contract employees had been given salary increments ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 86,250.

COPE has exposed how a spin bowling coach had been given a Rs. 215,400 salary increment in 2013.

SLC can obtain free legal advice from the attorney general, but it has spent massive amounts to obtain the services of private legal firms, which amounted to Rs. 18.2 million in 2014.

In the past 10 years, SLC’s legal fees stood at Rs. 124 million.
