Police arrested Namal and produced him before courts over an alleged misappropriation of Rs. 70 million, which he obtained from India’s Krrish Group, ostensibly for the development of rugby.
Police informed the court that four others would be named as suspects in the case.
After considering submissions, the court ordered the police to submit a progress report on October 31.
CCTV footage relating to Thajudeen killing to Canada
Meanwhile, a CID team led by an ASP will take to a Canadian technical institution on August 22 the CCTV footage relating to the killing of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen.
Tests conducts locally showed the footage was unclear, and it has been decided that better and advanced facilities were needed for further tests.
