Two members of the Ceylon Workers Congress have crossed over to the UNP, pledging support to common candidate Maithripala Sirisena.

The two members are Central Provincial Councillor M. Udayakumar and Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha member A. Thyagaraja.

At a media briefing held today (25), it was stated that Udayakumar and Thyagaraja would continue politics under the UNP.

The general secretary of the CWC is minister Arumugam Thondaman.
