He is accused of having abused state property and money for activities of the Rajapaksa Foundation.

IGP Pujith Jayasundara too, made a public statement at a reception held in his honour his alma mater in Ibbagamuwa on July 15 that several top figures in the Rajapaksa regime would be arrested.

Meanwhile, ex-minister Basil Rajapaksa, accused of abusing Divi Neguma project funds, has been remanded until August 01.

Sri Lanka Mirror reported yesterday that he would be arrested today.

In the meantime, MP Namal Rajapaksa was enlarged on bail by the Colombo magistrate’s court, but was banned from leaving the country.

After getting bail, he said the allegations against him that he misappropriated Rs. 70 million received from Krrish Group, supposedly to develop rugby, were false.
