‘New constitution should be acceptable to all’

‘New constitution should be acceptable to all’

The new constitution should be one that is accepted by not only the southern political forces, but also acceptable to all communities, says opposition leader R. Sampanthan.

After a meeting of the TNA in Vavuniya, he told the media that they had discussed what their concerns should be with regard to a new constitution.

There is no change to the proposals that have already been submitted to the government in that regard, he said.

The TNA will reach a final agreement within the next fortnight with regard to the matters of Tamil-speaking community, Sampanthan added.
