The NHDA has planned to build 200 houses in this land.

In 2006, Sathish Gamage made an illegal construction in the land and the then Ampara divisional secretary R.M.M. Basnayake had opposed the move.

Sathish then filed a court case, no. 2042/2007, seeking handover of the said land to him, but the petition was rejected.
