At a party meeting in Gampaha yesterday (10), he said the Tamil extremists were taking the country backwards by demanding the inclusion of federalism to the new draft constitution.

The LTTE terrorists armed themselves and fought not for reconciliation, but for their plan to divide the country, he noted.

When the south and the north are on a path to reconciliation, there is no need for what the terrorists had wanted, said Ranawaka.

The entire world is today rising up against terrorism, and we too, should follow them, he added.
