President Maithripala Sirisena and a group of politicians had had lunch at Gunasekara's home last Monday after visiting Matara to inaugurate several development projects.

Just before leaving, the President had spoken to Hemal in a low voice and said that his task will be done soon.

The others have been puzzled as to what the task is, but it was later learnt that Gunasekara is to be appointed as the next governor of Sabaragamuwa Province.
