At a media briefing on July 06, minister Gayantha Karunatilake said a price ceiling has been imposed for 10 commodities, but it is a falsehood to say they include rice and big onions, says the national movement for the protection of consumers’ rights.
President of the movement Ranjith Vithanage has written to the minister, saying as far as they knew, these two were not included in a list of 21 commodities with a specified maximum retail price.
He asked that rice, potatoes and big onions be included into the list.
