Speaking to ‘Ada Derana’, Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy has said that Sri Lanka is currently unable to compete with countries such as Bangladesh which have lower labour costs and countries such as Thailand which are high in labour efficiency.
Therefore, swift reforms are need to escape this ‘trap’ and increase the efficiency of the workforce, he has added.
Earlier today (02), it was announced that President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy as the new governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
